Felix the Cat
keeps you chuckling
while you work on your computer. He appears unpredictably on your screen
and insinuates himself into what you were doing - like a real cat, but
without the fur. You can manipulate him with your mouse, picking him up,
making him stop what he's doing, moving him to the side of the screen,
etc. This is an advertising application, but the ad pitch is very subtle
and unobtrusive. We don't advocate the sponsor per se, but we do like their
style.

Play with Maukie
Maukie is an animated cat who
loves to play. If you "pet" her with the mouse pointer on her chest or
stomach she will purr. Rub her forehead and she meows. Move
the cursor around her body and her head and eyes follow it. Move it near
her shoulders, or in front of her paws when she's sitting, and she will
reach out to bat at it.
Maukie is just the cutest! But
beware, she can be addictive.
Maukie is hosted many places on
the net. To find one, search for "Play with Maukie" on any major
search site and you'll find plenty of
links.
One final consideration. Many (though not all)
of these "game" and "fun" sites, and many other
entertainment sites, try to put spyware (pop-up generators,
keyboard loggers, adware, etc.) on your computer. It's a good idea to be
armored up with virus protection and privacy software when you rove the net
looking for free
fun.
